Description
This was taken in Oxford, England.
Magdalen College (pronounced 'Maudlin') was founded in 1448 by William of Waynflete, a New College man. Owing to royal (and other) gifts, Magdalen became the richest college in Oxford by the reign of Henry VIII.
Look for the full length effigy of Richard Patten, father of William of Waynfleete, in the college chapel, with miniature figures of the Founder and his brother, on either side of the head. Also see the modern sculpture of Christ and Mary Magdalen by David Wynne.
